How long have your been competing?:
Did my first comp in 1995

What got you started in bodybuilding in the first place and did you have any aspirations of competing early on in your training?: I was only training to get in shape again, but it wasn't long before I knew I wanted to compete.

What's your current workout routine?:
Currently training 3 days per week-
Day 1: chest, shoulders, tri's
Day 2: legs
Day 3: back & bi's
This changes to 4 days as a comp approaches though.

Body part most liked to train:   Back or Shoulders.

What's been your secret to making continual improvements to your physique over the years?:
Just looking at the photo's/video's of the comp & seeing where I need to improve each year. Reading a lot on nutrition etc, trying different things.

Favorite off season food:    Don't really have one, I'm not into crap food & sweets etc, but I love a good steak any day of the week.

Favorite pre contest food:   Once again I don't really have one, eating is a means to an end, but I suppose diet jelly is pretty good.

How much importance, if any, have nutrition and supplementation contributed to your success?: Nutrition plays a big roll in any athletes success, supplements also help if used correctly.

What are your main supplements off-season and pre-contest?:   A good protein powder like sustained release, creatine, vitamins & minerals & bcaa's are what I use off season, then pre comp I throw in some glutamine, green tea & metaslim, maybe some l-carnitine.

Favorite bodybuilder:   Marcus Ruhl

Favorite bodybuilding magazine:   Hardcore Aussie Muscle

Greatest moment in bodybuilding:   Winning the IFBB Masters Australian in 2002

2002 IFBB AUST Masters 1st
2004 IFBB QLD Masters 1st
2004 IFBB AUST Masters 1st

What's your motivation to keep training and competing?: I lost the motivation to compete after I won the IFBB Masters for the 2nd time in 2004, but I have changed my focus to the CCI & maybe back in the weight classes or the class 4 in NABBA again where I used to compete. I just need a new challenge to keep me motivated, as for training, well I just love to train.

Has bodybuilding always been your main sporting interest?: No I used to play rugby league, then after not being involved in sport at all for a few years I got involved with bodybuilding, now I'm stuck on it for life.

Do you have any interests outside of the gym?: I was breeding tropical fish, but have scaled that down as I don't have the time since we opened our new fruit shop. Other than that just my family, I don't get to spend enough time with them at the moment.

When competing at the level you do, you no doubt benefit from the help and support of others. Is there anyone you would particularly like to extend your thanks to?: There are too many to name personally, but I would like to thank Completesuppshop & also Fitness Central for their support. Also Fitness Works where I train. All the rest, you know who you are.
