What do you do for a living?:  Research department Manager

You live in the outback don’t you? Tell us how this affects your bodybuilding goals.:   Yes, There is not a hell of a lot to do here, A lot of people spend there time in the pub’s LOL, I prefer to be were I am comfortable, I spend a lot of time in the gym, I think of it as an advantage. The mind is THE strongest muscle you have, if you want something bad enough you WILL find some way to get it.

Do they have good gyms out in the sticks?:   They have 2 Ftness First type gym’s out here but I have always prefered and supported the local YMCA.

You entered in a transformation challenge a couple of years ago,(which i thought you should have won!!) was it a positive experience?:   It was a steep learning curve but it was critical too me realising I didn’t have to look the way I did.

How many bodybuilding comps have you done?:   Just the one last Year Nabba WA 2007

Are you prepping for any at the moment?:  Yes, Nabba 2008, hopefully a shoe in for the Nationals held over here (WA) this year.

Do you find preparing for comps hard or do you enjoy it?:   I enjoy the challenge, but admit it is difficult the last week especially.

Have you any sponsors?:   Western Australian School of Mines And YMCA Kalgoorlie

How long have your been lifting weights?:   Almost 12 years , but wasted many years like most overtrained and under nourished

What got you started in bodybuilding in the first place and did you have any aspirations of competing when you first started training?:    Absolutely no aspirations to get on stage, It just sort of flowed on from when I competed in power lifting, bodybuilding just seemed like the thing to do, at the end of the day I enjoy a challenge.

What's your current workout routine?:   I just stick to the basics. Benching for chest, dips for tris, db curls for bi's, chins and deads for my back and squats for my quads. Another really important thing I believe in is in keeping a log book. I religiously record the weights used on all exercises for all my training sessions. Every time I enter the gym, I set a personal goal of absolutely having to beat my previous numbers. By that, I mean I either beat the weight lifted or increase the reps lifted adding 1.25kg to each lift per session and over time, it all adds up. I believe growth stimulation is most effectively achieved with progressively heavier loads.

Do you have a trainer?:   Mostly I have trained alone, the last 2 years I have been training my little brother, but Pre comp my good friend and trainer Kelly Fleetwood.

Body part most liked to train:   Quads

Favorite exercise:   Squats

Favorite off season food:   Pizza and curry

Favorite pre contest food:   Definitely not tuna, possibly chicken or Kangaroo

Do you follow a strict eating plan all year round?:   Yes , but I follow a more relaxed approach off-season, This year I have really been trying to Stay a bit leaner and eating cleaner, There is usually a high fat, high carb meal there somewhere.

Do you think supplements play an important role in achieving your goals?:   Yes

What are your main supplements off-season and pre-contest?:   Off-season basically I’ll use a multiV and a WPI Protein with some carbs like WMS before and after workouts. Pre comp I’ll add – BCAA's, Glutamine, Taurine, Arginine, and generally a stim product like Metaslim B2 combined with Green Tea Tabs, and an array of antioxidants.

Favourite bodybuilder:   Dorian yates & locals Con Demitriou, Warren Clampit

Favourite bodybuilding magazine:  HCAM,

What's your motivation to keep training?:   My beautiful Nagging wife.

What other sports have you participated in or interest you?:   Powerlifting

Do you have any interests outside of the gym?:   My Family

Would you like to thank anyone?:   My Wife Brooke my three beautiful children, George-may, Alex and Indiana, Official sponsors and Mentor /Trainer Kelly Fleetwood
